A few words on London’s Brick Lane Bagel Bakery

I don’t mean to sound bitter or self-righteous, but I do think there aren’t many places where you can get a great cheap eat as much as you can on Brick Lane’s Bagel Bakery. And that is a huge shame.

Both places on Brick Lane are fantastic, and both are quite rightly institutions in their own right for night owls who frequent the area.

If you haven’t been, make sure you go, and get a salt beef bagel with mustard. Get yourself a Challah for toast the next morning, and don’t forget a bunch of bagels which you can keep in your freezer for when you fancy a doughy treat.

I’m not sure when this happens, but when they boil the bagels before baking them, it fills the shops with the most amazing aroma. Kind of the same when you enter a waffle house and you get hit with a sort of caramel/malty smell. If you time it just right, you’ll get to witness that and it’s fantastic.

If you go, let me know how it went!

Enjoy, Roi x
